St John’s Theatre and Arts Centre is the Soul of Listowel. We are at the very heart of the community in everything we do.

Our theatre is used weekly by Kerry Parents and Friends for a music and dance therapy class. 

St John’s is and Autism Friendly Venue and we hosted the launch of Listowel as an Autism Friendly Town.

We hosted the party for Today FM’s Soundest Town in 2023 when Listowel emerged victorious.

Every week children’s and youth theatre groups merge in St John’s. Shout Out Youth Theatre and St John’s Youth Theatre create a safe space for young people (aged from 13-18 years) to explore the world using the medium of drama.

Theatrix is a singing, acting and dance school From pre-schoolers to our youth drama class we build in progression to ensure all children develop at every age.

The beautiful gothic building that is St John’s Theatre can be hired for your wedding ceremony, birthday party or other special family occasion.

At St John’s Theatre and Arts Centre, we’re proud to be the vibrant core of our community. We are the Soul of Listowel! Our venue hosts a diverse range of activities that enrich the lives of local residents.

Each week, we welcome Kerry Parents and Friends, an adult day service with additional needs, for music and dance therapy classes, fostering connection and creativity. As an Autism Friendly Venue, we were honoured to launch Listowel’s designation as an Autism Friendly Town, showcasing our commitment to inclusivity. We proudly host annual Kingdom Pride events at our LGBTQ-inclusive centre.

In 2023, we celebrated Listowel’s victory as Today FM’s Ireland’s Soundest Town with a lively community party, reinforcing our role as a hub for local pride and togetherness.

Our theatre is a haven for young people aged 13-18, thanks to groups like Shout Out Youth Theatre and St John’s Youth Theatre. These programs empower youth to explore their creativity and voice through drama.

Jo Jordan offers Theatrix, a comprehensive singing, acting, and dance school for all ages, from preschoolers to teens. Her curriculum is designed to nurture talent and ensure each child progresses at their own pace.

The stunning gothic architecture of St John’s Theatre is available for hire for your special occasions, including weddings, birthday parties, and family celebrations.
